Stylista: The Case of the Judas Cupcake
Oh, honeys. Trust us when we say we'll get to this later. For now, let's talk about poor Cologne.
If this doesn't sum up the team dynamic - disdain, ignore, whine - then we don't know what does.
Ashlie is getting angrier with each episode and in a way, we don't blame her. She keeps getting paired up with people she feels are beneath her. Katie's letting her defensiveness overwhelm her and while we think she's being treated pretty badly by her peers, we can't say she doesn't on some level deserve it. Poor Cologne is the Jan Brady of this trio. Typical middle child, she's trying to please everyone and in the end wound up pleasing no one.
"Kate doesn't know fashion. Not only fashion, but she doesn't know anything that's going on with anything."
Oh, honey. Those words bit you in the ass, didn't they?
If we can be forgiven for making a hoity-toity reference for a show that is neither hoity, nor toity, last night's throwdown had a Rashomon-like quality where depending on how you looked at it, everyone was right or everyone was wrong.
Were the judges right to criticize Cologne for letting their first choice go too quickly? Maybe. Then again, the judges' didn't see how embarassing Katie's little performance was for the group.
Megan is loving every second of this tantrum.
It says something when the least mature person at the ten-year-old's birthday party also had the biggest boobs in the room.
This screencap cracks us the hell up. We imagine that for a split second, Katie's faces morphed into little Regan's from The Exorcist.
Were they wrong to ignore Katie's objections to their editorial page? Clearly. But again, we can't blame them because she's been trouble from Day One and practically impossible to deal with on every level. They were sick of her at that point.
Wouldn't you be?
Still, the fault was their own. Cologne, and to a greater extent, Ashlie, didn't think anything coming out of Katie's mouth was worth listening to.
As we said, we can't blame them for that. They're only human after all. On the other hand...
They were out of their minds for thinking this was a good trend page.
The composition is blah and too monotone.
And the pieces they chose, as well as the styling for those pieces, were uninspired and uninteresting.
Worst of all, as the judges rightly pointed out, metallics are hardly a new trend. If anything, they're a trend on their way out. That's a mortal sin in fashion editorial.
Still...
How fucking delicious was this? For a split second we were all "She's DEFENDING Katie?!?" But of course, she wasn't defending her, she was looking to get her biggest threat sent home.
It's a shame Cologne got caught in the middle of all this scheming and drama but the fact is, she handled it in the worst way possible - by trying to please everyone - and honey? That's just NOT how they roll in the fashion world. Never buy a cupcake for your enemy, girl.
In other news...
Ashlie's going completely around the bend,
And Megan's t-shirt says it all.
