Heidi Klum attends the grand opening celebration for the new Victoria's Secret Lexington Avenue flagship store in New York City.
Oh, Heidi. Heidi, Heidi, Heidi. You're going to make us say that thing again. That thing that makes us sound like prissy old queens and pisses off some of our readers. *sigh* Here we go.
You're too old for this.
Look, she's clearly still rocking the body and we certainly don't think a woman in her mid thirties needs to go around in a burka (well, NO woman should go around in a burka but that's for another blog), but flaunting this much skin when you're not on a beach just comes across kind of desperate.
Remember how good Heidi looked in that Roland Mouret dress in Bryant Park? We're not arguing that she should be wearing high collars with hems below the knee all the time, but look at the picture in that link and try to tell us that she doesn't actually look younger in the Mouret dress than she does in this cougar costume.
Seriously, we can't say this enough: as long as the gal's got the body for it and feels comfortable doing so, she can rock a mini and a sweetheart neckline till the cows come home, but we reiterate: this much skin is too much skin past a certain age. And before you accuse us of sexism, you should hear what we say when we see our middle-aged gay brethren trying to rock the A&F catalogue. Just try and picture Tim Gunn in a wife-beater and camo cargoes with flip-flops.

We hate the dress, but that model is at least ten (or even 15) years younger than Heidi and it just works on her. Your twenties is the time when you can get away with the skin-flaunting, but at some point in every person's life, no matter how good the body looks, considerations toward age and what kind of message you're sending need to be made.
Seriously, it's actually making her look older. And in case you need reminding: she's in NYC in December wearing this. Sorry, but that's desperate. If she was in South Beach in June, we could make some concessions, but the message here is a screaming "I STILL GOT IT."
As for the shoes:
