As you might remember, Laura showed her creations at the MetLife Snoopy in Fashion show on Friday in Bryant Park and sure, we may be just a tad biased, but try and tell us that hers weren't the best pieces in the show.
CAMILLA! Girl, we missed you! LOVE the dress; not so much on the hat.
And we just want to do a little shoutout to all those fools who claim that Laura designs dreary old lady clothes. Two words, bitches: BULL and SHIT. That is fun and flirty and girly and YOUNG.
Frederique Van Der Waal (with her daughter Skyler) modeled the Pigpen dress. Gorge.
As for the rest of the pieces (designed by, among others, Betsey Johnson, Isaac Mizrahi, Heatherette, and (ew) Elizabeth Hasselbeck), they were either too literal (did none of these designers think for a moment "Yeah, I probably shouldn't do that zig-zag stripe because everyone'll be doing it?") or obscure to the point that there's no way of knowing which character they're supposed to be portraying.
Who? Who are these outfits supposed to represent?
Okay, cute and thematically appropriate, but were there more than ten minutes of thought put into either of these looks?
We don't know what the hell the guy on the left is supposed to be (but thanks for the legs!). On the right? Yawn.
WHAT.
THE.
HELL?
Enh.
Double enh.
Triple.
Some of these models wandered in from a different show, right?
You gave her a blankie and put her in a black dress and she's supposed to be Linus? How...clever.
We love the one on the left, which looks exactly like something a Peanuts girl would wear. The right - who knows?
All of the designs will be auctioned on eBay in October to raise money for Dress for Success, so save your pennies, gals. You could have a Laura Bennett original AND help out a worthy cause.
You can watch the entire show (or highlights) here.
