T LOunge

Think pink!

Bed Supper Club in Bangkok, Thailand courtesy of Planet Fabulon

Bitches, the bar is OPEN! Holla!

Okay, we don't know about you but we've had a stressful couple of days here chez T Lo, so we are primed and ready to get our drunk on. But first, some bidness:

Congratulations to RAISIN! You're the winner of last week's fabulous Nikolaki dress! Raisin got all 6 of the top and bottom 3 correct so clearly, the stakes have risen for y'all to do just as well this week.

Our prize for this week comes courtesy of season one PR alum Nora Caliguri from her Larsen Gray line:

It's this gorgeous top which she calls her "Rock Drop" top because sewn along the back of it are actual cut stones. It's gorgeous. The one we're giving away is not black like the one in the picture. It's a sand color and it's a size small, made entirely of organic and sustainable materials. Hell, it's got rocks in it. You can't get more organic than that.

Check out the site for Larsen Gray. The clothes are gorge and you can also find them at shopbop and Bloomingdale's.

How to win this chic little organic top? Simple. Just tell us who the top and bottom 3 will be on tonight's episode. You get 3 picks; you've got to include your email address, and you have until 10 PM eastern time to get your picks in.

Once again:
1) Pick the top 3 and bottom 3 designers of Episode 8.
2) You can have up to 3 entries in the contest.
3) If more than one person picks correctly, we'll pull the winning name out of a bag.

4) You must post your email address so we can contact you if you won.

5) No entries will be accepted once the show starts.

Project Runway's Most Dramatic Moments, S1, Part 2

We're not done with Season 1 yet, bitches!

3)Reunion-Gate

Oh Season One. How we miss the rawness of it all. What we wouldn't give to go back to those halcyon days when the designers had no idea what they were in for. The backstabbing, the fighting...

...the drinking on camera.

Just stop for a moment and remind yourself that they held the reunion IN A BAR. How awesome is that?

Let's put the inevitable Wendy beatdown aside for a moment and recall the ironic-in-retrospect Vanessa beatdown. See, before the reunion, Vanessa gave an interview for the Popgurls site. You can find it here. Go ahead and take a look.

What's so fascinating about it is, 4 seasons later, we can't imagine ANY of the designers getting so bent out of shape over such a relatively harmless interview. Did she smack-talk? Sure, but when we think of the kind of smack-talking that we saw in later seasons and in later interviews, we can't help thinking the people SERIOUSLY over-reacted to what Vanessa had said.

Look at Wendy's face there. Hysterical.

The thing is, knowing what we know about the show now, a lot of what Vanessa said was dead on. Even more dead on was her retort to Jay and Kara Saun's judgmental tirades that the only reason they were so defensive about it was because they made it into the finals.

In fact, it's particularly ironic watching Jay's hurt and offended response on behalf of the show when you consider all the bad things HE'S said about the experience in the years since.

In the end, Vanessa did what anyone would have done in the same situation (if they were drunk and had already spilled their wine all over the floor).

"I don't want to be here. This is bullshit."

She walked out, to Heidi's eternal delight. Vanessa, you're one of the few contestants on the show we've never met but we're here to say, you were (mostly) right and you didn't deserve the dogpile you got for it.

Of course, we have to move along to the Wendy dogpile now.

"I think people misunderstand my objective by coming on the show. I didn't come on the show to interact with fellow designers, I came on the show to win. I don't regret my approach. I just assumed that we were all doing the best we could in this difficult environment to get to the end."

"It's not about getting to the end, it's about how you get to the end."

You know, that's all well and good, and we're not really defending Wendy because she was pretty much a shithead through the whole contest, but for Christ's sake people, it's a REALITY TV COMPETITION. It really is astonishing to watch just how naive everyone was about the whole thing back in those days.

And in that vein...

4) HOTEL ROOM-GATE

Now, THIS, kittens, THIS was PRIMO DRAMA. The naivete of the Season 1 contestants allowed for some fantastic moments like this, where they simply let out every single thing they were thinking on-camera and with both barrels.

"It is a little bizarre that you live in a room with me and you don't speak to me."

"I'm not bizarre, how's that bizarre? If I think you're a backstabbing liar then I'm not going to talk to you, so to me it's not being fake, it's being real."

"Maybe if I coerce them to fight with each other physically, I automatically win."

Hey, what do you know, Jay? It worked!

"Wendy, everybody hates you. It's a fact."

So much for staying out of it.

"I've met people like you my whole life, who pretend to be your friend, who stab you in the back, who will do anything, I live in freaking Hollywood, do you understand that? You're going to need your soul one day, Wendy, and you don't have it."

"Don't sell your soul to get anywhere because you may need it one day."

Oh, come on. We're with Wendy on this one. Again, not to defend her, and we can certainly understand why Jay and Kara Saun were hurt and angry, but when you start talking about someone's soul in the context of a reality television competition, you're getting a little full of yourself. Especially since, Jay and Kara Saun, at this point, had absolutely no reason to be threatened by her. They had to know that she had no chance to win the competition, so why not just ignore her at this point? They would have come off looking a lot better, which is probably a lesson that was learned by all the designers in subsequent seasons because we were never again treated to such delicious drama as this on the show. Oh sure, there were blowups and personality conflicts, but nothing like this, where the full on hatred of the participants was laid out for everyone to see.

Nora Caliguri's Larsen Gray collection

Adorable little Nora Caliguri from Season One has her new eco-friendly Larsen Gray collection available for sale. We contacted her to tell us a little bit about the line. She responded in her usual effervescent manner.

"How are you?!?
I am so excited to finally connect you to where my clothes are (here and here).
The collection is called Larsen Gray. I am currently in Henri Bendels, Montmarte, and Canteloupe, Jessie James, Blush for New York, Lisa Klein in LA, and about 100 more stores across the country.

LARSEN GRAY--The company that owns Larsen Gray, Authentic Lifestyle Products, has been one of the largest providers of organic and sustainable materials to the fashion industry for three years. Along with being mindful of the environment, the company helps hundreds of families in Lesotho Africa, with health programs and support through its manufacturing. Larsen Gray, a project that we started for a younger more fashionable girl strives to do its best for the environment, labor, and the consumer as well.

While it is not completely feasible yet to have the type of styles and trims we have 100 percent sustainable, we do our best to have our garments mostly if not 100 percent made with these materials. Finding new and interesting ways to be eco is another thing love to do. The fabrics we use include organic cotton, soybean fiber, bamboo fiber, eco-wool, recycled wool, recycled polyester, silk(which is already a natural fiber) and our new cool find for fall, nature vinyl. (fabric made in a low emissions factory.)

Our designer profile is also on shopbop (you may have seen it already), the line is designed by myself and my friend from Pratt Institute Rachelyn Porter. EXTRA!! on NBC is coming in tomorrow to film a segment on our company, and I will email you guys when that airs! we are soooooo excited!"

So are we! We love it when any of the PR alums are out there making it work and Nora is just the sweetest little thing ever.

As for the collection, it's simple and feminine and chic. We especially like the ruffled tank and cropped jacket. We usually think braiding comes off a little too heavy-looking but we actually like the way it looks here.

PLUS! Eco-friendly! Just in time for Earth Day. Let's hear it for anyone who can make eco-friendly clothes that don't look like something you'd buy at a Phish concert.

PRG at the TRESemmé Finale Party, Part Zwei

More picture dumping from the TRESemmé finale party, darlings. By the way, Bravo's press release informs us that the season four finale became the network's most watched broadcast ever (3.754 million). Congrats, Bravo!

The Fab Four

Jay. Being Jay.

Andy Cohen with Jay's publicist, Nancy Kane

Tim and Emmett. Judging by the picture and knowing Emmett, he probably just said something very droll and slightly inappropriate.

See? We told you there was a lot of drinking going on.

Gorgeous Things and Tim. Check her blog for even more pics and her take on the evening.

Carmen. She told us that she did not design the pants she's wearing but she's had them since she was 18 and only wears them on special occasions.

Miss Emmett. Poor girl's a trooper. He literally stepped right off the plane from France to come to the party with us. He was exhausted.

Kara Janx and her husband Sharone. Y'know, it's not always easy to tell from season 2, but Kara is an absolute RIOT. She came up and gave us a big hello and we asked how the baby was doing. Her face lit up and she started gushing about what is obviously the great joy of her life. Gorgeous Things asked her if she had a boy or a girl and before Kara could answer, Lorenzo piped in with "A boy." Unfortunately for Lorenzo, she had a girl. Kara reacted in mock anger and play-smacked him, saying in her inimitable South African accent, "You know what? I'm not going to read your BLAWG anymore!"

Kaynebow is about to open a menswear store, believe it or not. And Emmett will soon have a line of accessories on QVC.

M. Malan. Fabulous as ever.

Fabulosity cubed. Lorenzo and Malan look they're about to make out, don't they?

Jillian and Lauren. Jillian showed up wearing one of her signature coats, but unfortunately we didn't get a picture of it. Hey, the Cosmos were calling us.

UPDATE:

Tim and Sweet P

Zulema. Gotta say, the girl looks gorgeous.

Lovely Marla. She's really sweet.

Nora and her sister. Hotties, am I right?

Here's a better shot of her dress, which is part of her upcoming line.

And the gorgeous Miu Miu boots she was wearing. Yes, we're fags. We take pictures of fabulous shoes.

With Victoria Brody, Senior Press Manager for Bravo. We had been in weekly contact with her since before the season started, but this was the first time we met her. A total doll. Please disregard Tom's wonky collar.

With Valerie Brown, Director, Digital Marketing & Events for Bravo. Valerie is fabulosity personified and if there's such a thing as reincarnation and we come back as women, we want to be just like her when we grow up. Valerie and Victoria are so smart and so professional and they were such a huge help to us throughout the season that we simply have to give our girls a shoutout. As we told Faran from Fashionista, Bravo treats bloggers very, very well and Victoria and Valerie are a huge part of that.

Tom is not an alcoholic, he's merely holding Gorgeous Things' drink while she takes the picture.

And to wrap things up, just for the fun of it, let's play "Where's T Lo?"

We heard rumors that Posh tried to have us thrown out for taking the attention away from her.

Now darlings, we can't thank you enough for all the kind words you said in our previous post, but stop talking like it's our funeral! We're not going ANYWHERE. We have to rip the collections of the finalists, PLUS the collections of the decoys, PLUS we've barely even scratched the surface of the Fall 2008 collections from all the judges, PLUS we have swag bag giveaways coming up, PLUS we're going to finally return to our T Lo blog. Casting for Season 5 of PR starts NEXT MONTH and we'll have the scoop on that, not to mention Top Design Season 2, Shear Genius Season 2, Musical Mondays, Dames & Divas, and any other bitchery and fabulosity that pops in our heads. As always darlings, Watch What Happens!
