PRG Toons!

Once again, Alex tries on dresses and once again he makes Lorenzo (to his eternal annoyance) look like a Mexican Tintin.

Clickie to biggie, bitches!

Separates That Should've Been Separated

Congrats, Holly's mom! We knew someone in this crowd would win the Pushy Mother Award and guess what? It's you!

"Just ignore her."

And thus is summed up every mother-daughter relationship since the beginning of time.

Unfortunately, Judy Noodles did not do enough ignoring. If this had been sent down the runway with no indication of who the designer was, we doubt anyone would have been able to figure it out.

It's not just that it's noodle-free; it's that it looks nothing like Leanne's style at all.

If each piece had been paired with a different piece, you might have two cute outfits. At first we thought the jacket was kind of ugly but actually, it would be pretty cute paired with a more casual outfit, like a pair of jeans.

Ah, there's the noodlery. Leanne honey, never hide your light under a bushel and never hide your noodles where no one can see them.

It really is kind of sharp, isn't it? It's just too boxy for that dress and the colors are too drab.

The dress itself?

Cute, but that's about it.

Nothing really award-winning about the design. Just a very basic dress in a somewhat dull color scheme.

Stick to your guns, Leanne. You've proven many times over that when you follow your own muse, you turn out some pretty innovative looks. Ignore the Holly's Moms of the world and do what you know.

And since bizarre jacket-dress pairings have been something of a theme this season...

Let's move on to Korto.

The dress is cute but let's face it: the fabric is doing all the work. It's just a basic wrap dress. Two things: one: we think that hem is a bit too short for a professional look and two: that belt is completely unnecessary.

The dress looked much better (and more flattering) without it.

She could have banged out a dress like that in her sleep, so it seems to us like she blew her design wad on that jacket, which is pretty damn sharp, we have to say.

The seams create a very flattering effect on the body and we like the keyhole neckline at the top.

But to be honest, the jacket looks better when it's worn open. And just like Leanne's it would look even better if it was paired with another outfit.

Mean Girls

"Tim doesn't really understand me as a designer."

Oh please, honey. One stroll through your average vintage store is all anyone needs to "understand" you. And for all your self-puffing smack talk, why is it that

the tulle that Tim suggested you trim

mysteriously disappeared by the time mini-me walked down the runway?

It's one thing to reject Tim's advice and do things your way; it's quite another to pretend to reject Tim's advice and then do exactly what he suggested while putting him down for suggesting it.

Admittedly, Kenley's definitely getting the bitch edit but one thing we've learned is those who get the villain edits always get them because they gave the editors the material to work with. We have no doubt that when all is said and done with Season 5, Kenley will stamp her feet and pout and claim that she's nothing like the bitch we saw onscreen. You might as well zip it now, honey because no one is going to believe that one.

Alright, enough bitchtalk. Let's talk about the dress.

...

Um...

Well, we can say it's flattering to her figure. That's a compliment, right?

We think the vest is a bit ugly and unnecessary and the belt or sash or whatever that is just doesn't work at all.

And that print, like all the prints she picks, is fugly.

There was a lot of talk from the judges about how Veronica here "found" a mini version of herself but that's bullshit. This girl's personal style wasn't anything like Kenley's.

The fact is, she completely made her over to look like a mini version of herself. Frankly, that doesn't say much for her skills as a designer.

It's just another unimaginative '50s retread from her. No matter who she wound up with as a client, they were going to get the exact same dress from her.

She's just lucky she wound up with one of the nerdy girls from the chess club who was so thrilled that one of the popular girls paid attention to her that she would have done anything for her. Honey, she got what she wanted out of you. Don't expect her to invite you to any slumber parties or sign your yearbook. The minute you turn your back on her she's going to go back to calling you a dork.

Ugh. We're so over her.

Oh, please.

"She seems very interested in the pants, which is not Suede's thing."

Oh, horseshit. It's "not Suede's thing" because Suede CAN'T DO IT WELL.

By the way, we think the constant playacting must be getting to him at this point. He looked EXHAUSTED through the whole episode.

Maybe if he hadn't used up all his energy playing "Suede," he could have allocated some of it to actual design and execution. Because kittens? This SUCKED.

We like Pucci style prints, but we thought this one was kind of ugly. Really, that's just a taste issue. Let's talk about the actual design, shall we?

As Nina pointed out, it's a horribly dated, early '90s look. As the Duchess pointed out, it's a ridiculous outfit for a working photographer.

Suede, it doesn't matter that pants are not your "thing," they're practically de rigueur for a photographer. Putting her in a cocktail dress with an ugly jacket is simply a ridiculous choice.

Oh, and about that jacket...

Too much going on with that trim, not to mention it's totally wrong for that dress. Plus, as Tim pointed out, the sleeves don't match. Anything that requires actual tailoring skills, like sleeves or pants, just isn't Suede's "thing."

Right.

And how exactly is she supposed to take pictures with those trumpet sleeves getting in the way?

But you know what? All of this is just a lot of hot air. Nothing we can say can top Nina's critique.

"I have a lot of problems with this and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I will say no more."

"Tell him to stop looking at me."

Pasta la vista, Joe.

The very definition of the dreaded loser edit:

"I'm going to really make sure it fits you in the right places."

"I want to show the judges that fit and tailoring is something I can do really well."

As soon as he made those statements, we knew it was going to be a poorly fitted monstrosity. And guess what?

We were right.

We know a lot of you think that the Suedester should've gone home last night but frankly, we don't agree. It was all Pasta Joe the minute that walked down the runway.

Those shoes! What the hell?

We like Joe. For the most part, he's laid back and he really seemed to be enjoying the hell out of just being there but we really don't think he had the chops, not for this competition.

If you look at his portfolio and resume, he's clearly an accomplished designer but we just don't think he had the "Fashion with a capital F" thing that the judges are looking for. Too mainstream and too middle of the road.

And "middle of the road" describes this pretty well. Oh sure, there were plenty of problems with Suede's entry (and we'll get to them), but the main problem with this design was the sheer (new word alert!) cataloguiness of it.

It's pure JC Penney. Nothing interesting or imaginative and CERTAINLY nothing youthful or stylish about it.

And to top it off, it was shockingly poorly made.

And it did terrible things to her body shape. A HUGE no-no.

To sum it up: boring, poorly made, made his client look fat. That's the trifecta of auf'ing right there. Suede's was bad but Joe committed every cardinal sin there is in fashion.
