So, we get this email from Emmett yesterday...

This is my former assistant!

I am emailing you because you have a very unique opportunity to help Matthew and Jeffrey and perhaps law. Matthew and Jeffrey are up for the wedding of their dreams. If they win, their wedding will become the "Gay wedding" of the year! Given our current political climate in NYC I think this is a good opportunity for all the gay and gay "friendly" community members in the USA. If they win the US Weekly will be forced to cover not only the wedding, but also the issue/controversy of gay marriage in New York and legislation being debated in the USA currently.

And our first thought was "How do we tell Emmett we don't do that kind of thing?" Then we thought, "Oh, fuck this. These 2 queens deserve the wedding of their dreams even if the state doesn't recognize them as married." We tend to shy away from the political stuff on this blog, but that doesn't mean we're not politically minded. And while it's tough to expect our gay-supportive straight friends to get out and march in support of marriage rights, it's the easiest thing in the world to head on over to US magazine and with a click of your finger, send a little message and give a couple queens their dream. Will it affect the law? Probably not, but there's nothing wrong with showing a little support. If we have to sit in the back of the bus, let's at least demand some comfortable seats.
