Chloe: Lettuce pray.

Thank god we're in agreement on the next episode kittens, because - you guessed it - we do NOT agree on this dress.

Lorenzo loves it and Tom thinks she looks like a salad-in-a-bag.

Oh, alright. That's a little harsh. It IS pretty.

It's just that the design is so simple. She made a basic muslin dress and then glued leaves all over it. Granted, they ALL did that, but Chloe's actually LOOKS like she did that.

We both agree that the little skullcap was a brilliant piece of styling, though.

Sure, it makes for a pretty and simple dress, but the way the judges fell all over it declaring "It looks like a REAL dress!" Well, yeah. It IS a "real" dress. And no, looking at the screencaps, it doesn't look almost like fabric. It looks exactly like what it is: fabric with leaves glued on it.

However, Lorenzo thinks that was part of her plan. Keep the dress simple and let the leaves do all the talking. In that sense, mission accomplished - and as we said, it is a pretty little thing. It's just that there were more interesting entries this week and Tom found it annoying that the judges fawned all over such a simple design - especially since the leaf placement went from calculated to haphazard as she was running out of time and you can actually see that as you look at the dress.

One of us always has to be the bitch.

Lord, What fools these judges be!

Hey, even wood nymphs wanna get their freak on every now and then.

Nick, we luvya, but this dress was a disaster.

We think that, left to his own devices, Nick is capable of producing classic, flowy goddess gowns. It's what he excels at.

Unfortunately, when Nick is floundering in a challenge that he would never undertake in the real world, he tends to lapse into tackiness. A lot of the other dresses this week, despite the fact they were made out of leaves, still embodied the designers' aesthetics. Daniel's looked like a Daniel dress; Chloe's looked like a Chloe dress, and so on. As much as Nick likes fierce, high-impact dresses, this doesn't look like a Nick dress to us.

Obviously, he screwed up in making his materials selection and when he got back to the workroom he had to make some major concessions just to get the dress done. That bust is HIDEOUS but we're almost 100% sure Nick never would have used the stems if he wasn't forced to.

And don't even get us started on the exploding pussy.

The basic idea of using those big flat leaves as the basis for the dress was a good one and had he actually purchased enough of them, he really could have turned out a patented Nick Verreos red carpet dress. He's damn lucky that the judges had more problems with Andrae's because this was bringing him perilously close to the chopping block.

Wanna hear something shocking? We think this is really beautiful and creative.

We'll go further than that: it's our favorite out of everything Santino did during the competition. Who knew that gigantic raging fashion designer had the heart of a poet? This could have been perfect costuming for a production of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

He didn't just slap a lot of leaves together (like most of the designers did). He put a lot of thought into arranging them and making patterns out of them. That bodice is absolutely beautiful and the netting at the bottom was genius.

Oddly enough, this was the most "woman-friendly" (can we just say we think that's a silly term? Like other dresses really HATE women and try to HURT them) of all his designs. You can actually make out her natural curves under that thing! Who knew?

Then again, it's kinda hard to do deconstruction with leaves. Oh! And the judges having a "problem" with his leaves being "too shiny?" Jesus H., those jackasses just make shit up to complain about, don't they?

Kara: Under Pressure

Alright. Tom's gonna have to backtrack here and agree with Lorenzo. This one should have won. And he's not saying that because Lorenzo threatened to withhold sex from him. Really.

There's only one criticism: the proportions on that skirt are a little off. It looks, ironically enough, like a Christmas tree skirt.

It's just too full and too stiff, which is a shame...

...because that bodice is a goddamn work of art. Absolutely stunningly beautiful.

No, it doesn't look like a "real" dress, which is something on which the judges oddly placed a lot of importance. But that shouldn't matter. The construction, especially the raffia work and the way she placed the colored flowers, is brilliant.

Tim's little pep talk - along with the Duchess's biting comments last week - must have worked. Based both on her past work and on future work in this season, it's pretty obvious that Kara works much better under pressure. Actually, let's amend that. She falls apart under pressure but then somehow manages to turn out really beautiful work. It's a damn shame they didn't give her the win this time.

Andrae: Gathering Moss

A damn shame. We can understand the judges' reasoning behind the auf'ing, but it seemed to us that Andrae was finally getting the hang of this thing and realized it's about expressing yourself through your designs and not by playing to the camera. This was actually a cute dress.

Unfortunately, this was a cute dress with some issues. Namely, the fit. We can't really add anything to what the judges said on that issue. It just looks big and stiff on her and completely obliterates her natural curves. And we hate the knot in the belt.

Oh sure, it's a little costume-y, but come on, it's made out of plants. All of the designs looked costume-y to us. Even Chloe's, to a certain extent.

Could have done without all that schmutz on the bottom of the skirt though. Yes, he needed to add something to this all-moss dress, but that wasn't the place to put it.

With only some minor adjustments to the design and some more attention paid to the fit, we think this could have won it. The design is classic. Sort of like Audrey Hepburn as a wood nymph. Unfortunately, at this stage in the game, designer's are auf'd for the most minor of transgressions and someone had to go this week. He got on our nerves more often than not, but he has vision and talent. We would have loved to have seen what he could have done for Bryant Park.

Daniel: Homewrecker

Oh, there was much arguing last night over this dress. This goddamn season is going to be the death of our marriage. We hope you bitches are happy.

Lorenzo thinks there were better choices for the win on the runway, but Tom thinks this is the prettiest and most "garden party" out of all the dresses. Lorenzo just thinks it's basic and obvious. Although Tom has to admit, looking at the screencaps, this dress isn't quite as lightweight or fitted as it appeared on the show. She looks awfully thick-waisted.

A major point of contention: that he had so much of the muslin showing.

Granted, the straps are actually ribbon, but that whole flower bodice rests on the fact that he went a little light on the flowers, meaning, the muslin was actually part of the finished design instead of just a supporting garment. A minor point, to be sure, but Lorenzo is one picky bitch.

The thing that really sticks in Lorenzo's craw is that the judges quite stupidly made such a big deal out of the lack of flowers on the garments, never once considering that ...hello?! Flowers don't come cheap - especially in Manhattan. They made it quite clear that Daniel's use of flowers was a major factor in their decision.

Still, even Lorenzo admits that it was a pretty dress. He can't actually bring himself to compliment it, so that falls to Tom. We I like the weave on the bodice and the use of ferns to make the skirt was brilliant. He picked an absolutely gorgeous flower for the bust and used it sparingly, placing the flowers as if they were lightly falling down the dress. All in all, it was pretty and chic and well-made.
