The 20 Worst PR Looks of All Time - Part 2

Darlings, we are sick as dogs, but we're discreetly slipping out of our sick pants to momentarily put on our bitchpants. We do it for the love.

Number 15

Season 1 - Episode 5: "Model Clients"
Designer: Austin Scarlett

The irony of this story (the twist, if you will), is that after Season 1 diva and Original Princess Austin Scarlett sent this horrific, fabric-shitting thing down the runway and called it a wedding gown, he recovered from his momentary lack of taste and went on to be hired by Amsale as Head Designer for Kenneth Pool Bridal.

Number 14

Season 3 - Episode 3: "Designer's Best Friend"
Designer: Angela Keslar

JUBILEE MOTHERFUCKING JUMBLES is in the HOUSE, y'all! Oh, how we MISSED Jubilee Jumbles! We wonder if Jubilee Jumbles still works with children dressed like a slutty clown?

Number 13

Season 5 - Episode 1: "Let's Start from the Beginning"
Designer: Blayne Walsh

Sometimes, you just gotta go with what works. We refer to our original declaration regarding this look: "There's a giant cotton centipede crawling out of her lady area." Once you point out the elephant in the room, there's really no need for any further dissection or criticism.

Number 12

Season 4 - Episode 2: "I Started Crying"
Designer: Marion Lee

Forgive us, but we're once again going to have to refer to our original impression: "If clothing could cry, this is what it would look like." Somehow, scrappy boy designer Marion Lee sent this post-apocalyptic, sad Pocahontas-looking piece of poo down the runway in his entry for Sarah Jessica Parker's line of disposable clothing, Bitten. Unsurprisingly, everyone burst into tears at the sight of it.

Number 11

Season 5 - Episode 1: "Let's Start from the Beginning"
Designer: Jerry Tam

All of you would probably agree that Jerry Tam was a brief figment of your imagination, but we checked and he really exists! It's true! Not only that, he really did send this provocative serial killer/nurse/nun melange down the runway in his one and only appearance on Project Runway! Thanks to his memorable use of shower curtains and dishwashing gloves, Gristedes is where ALL the stylish New York girls who engage in ritualistic murder like to shop!

Sew Not Over: Marion and Carmen

So let's get to it, shall we? If you need a refresher, go here.

Marion:
"My collection is based on imagery. Some of the images like the palm leaf top are graphic and bold, and are paired with a black heavy silk to resonate with the top. Other images like the feather top are delicate and light. The delicate feather print on the top is as delicate as the beautiful feathers on the skirt. The prints are so beautiful that I paired each with a black color palette to keep a cohesive presentation."

Well, well, well. Shut our mouths. This was an interesting little collection of looks. Poor Marion never really did get a chance to shine in the competition and he went out on such a horrendous note that we're pleasantly surprised to see such chic and innovative looks from him. We don't love every part of it. For one thing, not big fans of tulle or large bows and ribbons. On the other hand, this is an interesting collection with a distinct point of view. It's not for the trendy but it is for a particular type of woman. We like.

Carmen:
"It is based on Japanese Female warriors. They are known as Onna Bugeisha. There is also a famous warrior by the name of Tomoe Gozen that was amazing and admired by many. It is my celebration of strong women. I have chosen a Japanese theme using traditional English fabrics. The fur is FAKE -- I DO NOT BELIEVE IN USING REAL FUR. The shapes and hues complement any type of body type and women of all ages."

Warm up your pitching arms and get yourself some ripe fruit, ladies, because we actually liked this collection.

Oh, calm down. We didn't like ALL of it. We kind of hate the flat monochromatic...ness(?) of it. She would have been much better served with some contrasting colors to make that wine/plum pop. That little hint of orange in the 3rd look helps tremendously. We both hate the first look. There's little to recommend there. But that second look? HOT. Those sleeves are gorgeous and the leggings are sexy. Love the belt too. The third look is kinda interesting. We like the idea of a cropped kimono jacket, but we think it probably would have looked better with skinny pants instead of those massive Dorothy Zbornak pants.

Pocahomeless

Once the Duchess got the Pocahontas reference out of the way, we gave up on trying to be clever here.

Strangely, the sketch had a more sophisticated feel to it. We probably wouldn't have liked this version much better, but at least it didn't look like an old afghan.

We think those of you who don't think Steven is adorable are crazy and those of you who think he looks like Tom are blind. What's more fun than watching a cute, shy nerd get completely discombobulated by a middle-aged ragamuffin?

Actually, it was a little painful to watch. We felt a little bad for both of them but we're not gonna lie, we were relieved they didn't send Steven home. Marion felt like an inevitability almost from the beginning, but it wouldn't have seemed fair to send Dimples McNerdison home.

Bad as the outfit was - and it was REALLY bad - the styling only made it worse. What the hell is up with her hair?

Although granted, the most stunning hair and makeup in the history of ever wouldn't have done much to dress up this yarn monstrosity.

And the fringe? Seriously? Has fringe ever worked in fashion? We don't know, Marion seems like a really creative kinda guy, but his aesthetic struck us as pretty out there - and his personality was too low-key for reality television. We can't say we're surprised to see him go so early.

If clothing could cry, this is what it would look like.

Check out Marion's exit interview:

Sweet P, Steven & Marion

We went back and forth on this one, but ultimately, Lorenzo joined Tom on the Dark Side and agreed that this was just not good.

First off, the frigging bow. Enough already. Second, the big sash-y straps. Too much.

And finally, it's a basic, shapeless sack. The fabric is pretty but the overall color choices are kinda bleh.

Y'know, you can take your Ramis and your Jacks,* we'll be over here swooning over Steven. He's a dreamboat.

*But don't take them too far, we might need them later.

Well...

We don't hate it, but it is a bit of a headscratcher.

It's kinda too plain and kinda too severe and it's just a little weird to see someone working a "sexy secretary" vibe amidst a sea of goddess gowns and celebutante party dresses.

It was too dark to see all the details (*shakes fist at producers for not listening to us and going with an ALL WHITE runway set*) but for the most part it looked finished and well executed. Tom likes the touch of ruffle on the back but Lorenzo doesn't.

Ugh.

We WANT to be polite and not make horrible character assumptions about people we don't know, so we feel JUST AWFUL about mentioning our observation that Marion comes off like some sort of pervert on camera, what with the paleness and the sweating and the darting eyes.

The ragamuffin clothes on a man pushing 40 doesn't help either, but we digress.

Honestly, what can we say? It's awful. They gave poor Ricky ten minutes of shit for making a pretty baby doll dress, but THIS gets not a second of comment from the judges? Really?

Did he make that skirt out of carpet remnants?

Bring it, bitches - Part Zwei

Marion Lee

Lorenzo: I couldn't concentrate much on the piece because this bitch couldn't walk to save her life. I don't like the choice of fabrics on this.
Tom: I agree. I don't particularly like the proportions on this either.
Lorenzo: It seems like the top doesn't work with the bottom.

Tom: I kinda like this. I still think the fabric choices are off and she does look like she's farting feathers, but it's kind of cute.
Lorenzo: I go back and forth on this one. I like the concept, I love the way the skirt moved on the runway, not crazy about the feathers. I do love the top.
Tom: Me too.

Lorenzo: I thought it was a great look. Lea is a great model and she worked the shit out of it.
Tom: It has a sort of Halston-y vibe to it, which is nice, but I think the top's a little blouse-y.

Jillian Lewis

Tom: Shocked the shit outta me.
Lorenzo: I have to say that I'm really impressed with her. I didn't expect this level of craftsmanship. The-
Tom: Shut up and let me speak. I agree with you. At first I was like "Oh, it's all a little too Dr. Zhivago," but I have to admit, it looks great.
Lorenzo: The look is very hot. But the model almost ruined it. She walked like she had just fallen off the horse.

Lorenzo: I loved this look. The details were amazing.
Tom: Liked, not loved. I have a little bias against the Cabaret-esque garters showing. I'm really working the film references in on this one.

Lorenzo: To be honest, I wasn't wowed by this piece.
Tom: I have to say, it's not my taste, but it was very dramatic - and perfectly executed.
Lorenzo: I agree that it was dramatic for the runway, but do you really want to wear that?
Tom: Well, no. But last time I checked, I'm not a girl. I love the silver.
Lorenzo: I love the top; I just don't like the bottom.

Ricky Lizalde

Tom: I have to give him credit for going in a different direction. I don't know if lingerie's his "thing," or if he made a conscious decision to be the odd man out.
Lorenzo: Daniel Vosovic said the same thing.
Tom: Hmmph.
Lorenzo: I agree. When it first came down the runway, I was like, "This is your big chance and you chose lingerie?" But they were so well done, that I can see why he did it.
Tom: And it got him attention.

Lorenzo: I loved this.
Tom: I liked the model too.
Lorenzo: Me too. I thought this piece was very sexy.

Tom: Too basic. Looks like Daniel Franco lingerie.
Lorenzo: A little matronly.

Chris March

Tom: I'm going to start off by saying Chris' stuff is a little gay. Not necessarily in a bad way, but it has that Nick Verreos "FIERCE!" vibe to it.
Lorenzo: I like the dress. I just wish -- the trim looked a little funny. On the back especially.
Tom: I just thought it looked way too '90s.

Tom: I liked this one, though.
Lorenzo: I did too, but I didn't like the chain across the top -
Tom: Agreed.
Lorenzo - and it was a little too pucker-y in the back.

Lorenzo: I absolutely loved this dress. Very sexy and it moved perfectly on the runway.
Tom: I agree. It's Furstenbergalicious.
Lorenzo: I can see a celebrity wearing this on the red carpet.

Jack Mackenroth

Tom: I'm gonna go first on this because I know you and a lot of others liked this. I wasn't crazy about it. I'll admit, it photographs well but in my opinion, that's because the fabric does all the work. That cape looks dramatic, but in person, the whole thing was kind of shapeless. Plus, I have a bias against cutesy trompe l'oeil stitching.
Lorenzo: I really liked it. I thought it was a very sophisticated look. Camilla did a fantastic job. The only thing is that when she turned, the cape didn't have much structure and it just looked like fabric hanging off her shoulder.

Tom: This, I loved.
Lorenzo: I thought it was very cute. I'm a sucker for fabulous prints. Lagerfeld once said that prints were for middle-aged women with weight problems -
Tom: Oh go suck your fan, Karl.
Lorenzo - but I disagree with him. I think a dress can be all about the print.
Tom: So long as the print isn't doing all the work,
Lorenzo: True. And I think he does a great job with prints.

Tom: Case in point. This is a gorgeous print, although it's a fairly basic dress.
Lorenzo: Even though I didn't like the sparkly trim, I absolutely love this dress.
Tom: You ARE a sucker for prints.
Lorenzo: Yes, I am. And Marilinda did a fantastic job. What did he do to get Camilla, Marilinda AND Amanda to walk for him?
Tom: Took his clothes off.
