Gather 'round, everyone.

"Designers, I wanted to take a moment so you could all look at me in my adorable sweater. Am I not adorable myself? Don't you wish you all looked this good in a sweater? Well you can't. Console yourselves with the knowledge that the GayBoys will be watching episode 6 tonight and will be blogging it starting tomorrow. Now, you all need to get back to work and I need to go look at myself in a mirror.

Carry on!"

Edited to add: Since we're all in agreement, that yes, he is adorable, we should all head over to OutZone and vote for Tim as the Sexiest Gay of the year. Do it!

Alexandra, Kevin, and Olga The Terrible

Feh. Alexandra really likes that loose, flowy stuff but she looks like a stack of lampshades.

Yeah....no. If there was a critique, we would offer it, but this is just bland and nondescript. A little too grecian for our tastes and like a lot of the offerings this week, it looks less like a bridal gown than just a white dress.

Before we get into Kevin's dress, it's time for the Models We Don't Like portion of our program.

Olga. While her boyfriend was downright doable, we just can't stand her. She's nasty and she seems to think the show is about her. We're getting a little tired of watching her push the camera out of her face. This isn't paparazzi, you pain in the ass. These are the people filming the show you agreed to be on.

And all the whining about having to wear garments! Get over yourself, Anastasia! Do you hear brain surgeons whine all day about having to, you know, perform surgery on brains? It's your job, girl! Get on with it and shut up.

Despite her pain-in-the-ass-edness and her tackiness and language difficulties ("I want diamonds on the carseat!"), this dress turned out okay.

It's a little too wrinkly for presentation and that bodice doesn't look as well-fitted as it should be and yeah, it's a pretty standard wedding dress, but he made the "diamonds" work without being tacky and overall, the effect is pretty.

Robert & Wendy

We wanted to break these up as the "Best of the Rest" and the "Rest of the Rest," but really, there wasn't enough of a difference so we're doing it kind of arbitrarily.

Lorenzo nailed it. He said she looked like the bride on top of the cake and he's right. This is completely unimaginative.

Maybe we're just too focused on the upcoming Dreamgirls premiere, but doesn't she? Look like a Supreme? Just a little bit?

There's nothing wrong with being a sexy bride, but the removable skirt was a little too stagewear, too "Like a Virgin." Bleh. Gimmicky.

We actually didn't hate this dress. We didn't exactly love it, but it was competently made and she at least tried to do something a little different and interesting. The red was a nice touch but the overall design is so bland that it doesn't even register as a wedding dress. It looks more like a coming out dress.

That's....way off. It just doesn't go with the front of the dress. And again, it looks decidedly un-bridal.

But hey, it's a hell of a sight better than her makeup this week.

For Christ's sake, she looks like Witchie Poo.

Bridal Wave

And Tropical Storm Morgan keeps rolling along, destroying everything in her wake.

Poor Jay. It's to his credit that he didn't have a complete design meltdown. Despite having quite possibly the worst client ever, he still maintained both his composure
(relatively speaking) and his aesthetic. In hindsight, this was interesting to watch because you can see it as a major step in Jay's development as a designer during the competition. He picked Morgan because she was "fun," but such considerations just aren't fitting in with his evolving and more competitive point of view anymore.

Besides, was she ever really "fun?" There's no denying that her brand of crazy makes for great television, but we can't imagine her being all that entertaining on a face-to face basis.

The infantile clapping. It makes us want to stab forks in our eyes.

"This is gonna be the greatest co... wait, what is it? [full minute of uncomfortable processing time] Challenge! This is gonna be the greatest challenge ever!" *claps like a retarded clown*

Oooookay.

"...because they LAUGH AT ME. WHO'S LAUGHING NOW BITCHES?"

Lorenzo really loves it; Tom not as much. It's striking and the bottom is kind of interesting. It has an elegant simplicity to it and it still looks "Jay."

Still, there was just something really off-putting about this dress. Maybe we're projecting too much of Morgan's personality on to it, but it has a restrictive, twisted, straightjacket quality to it that's...agitating.

Austin Scarlett, Man of Mystery

Girl, what the hell were you thinking?

"So, I figured, 'Why not shake things up and dress her up like a Chinese dragon?' I mean, when you think about it, it only makes sense, right?"

Before we get to the dress, can we just say...

...we hate the hairtits.

Seriously, what the hell? It's like, if Fred and Barney stopped off at a stripper joint on the way home from the quarry, this is what the girls would look like.

This honestly defies analysis. We still don't know what the hell he was thinking. It's just flat ugly and in no way even evokes the whisper of a wedding dress. More like a middle-aged barfly. On the starship Enterprise.

We'll say it.

She looks like she's shitting fabric. You just know Michael Kors said the same thing but they edited it out.

One of the very best things about Season 1, is the unintentional comedy provided by Heidi's rough-around-the-edges role as a hostess. We don't know what happened between Seasons 1 and 3, but we suspect it was something along the lines of Bravo sending her off to some kind of hostess boot camp.

Bitch had no idea she was even supposed to try to keep it off her face. We miss undiplomatic Heidi.

Oh and nice going with the rack-showing, girl.

Wet Hot American Fashion Designers

Those whacky designers have done it again!

Hey! Nora and Austin are wearing pieces from the Sarah Hudson dresses! How is it that we never noticed that before? We're surprised they were allowed to take them out. Was Bravo not auctioning off the garments this early in the game?

But Austin wears the big poofy bow well, doesn't he? Oh, what are we saying? He was BORN to wear big poofy bows.

Designers Gone Wild!

Once again, Bravo tries to hook the straight men.

Come and knock on our door
We've been waiting for you
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his
Three's Company too!

Melissa! What are you doing out, young lady?! Tonight is a school night!

Jeez, not only was this the drinkenest crowd of designers the show ever had, it was also the horniest.

That is, when they weren't acting like they were on their Senior trip.

"Always remember 6th period Calc!
Gave a GREAT summer!
GO BADGERS!!!!!!!
K.I.T.!!!!!!!!"

And like every Senior class...

There's always some jackass who can't handle the hormonal overload.

SayaNora!

WARNING! WARNING! We are heading into a bra-free zone! Please keep your hands inside the car and refrain from jumping up and down!

Poor thing. She tried to give her client what she wanted and what her client wanted was the fashion equivalent of one of those 99-cent greeting cards covered in glitter.

It's strange. Last week she was all about trying to assert her POV in a situation where she wasn't supposed to and this week she just folded without ever really trying to make the design her own.

Especially since she had a perfect opportunity when those damn roses came out of the dye looking so horrible. She could have just said to Melissa "I tried the roses but they didn't work."

Seriously, they look like cabbages.

We don't know if the previous week's drama tripped her up or what, but this doesn't even look particularly well-made.

Nothing says romance and new beginnings like a bunch of dead shriveled flowers. She looks like she walked through a graveyard on the way to her wedding.

And that corseting looks awful.

Definitely not well-made. That bodice is all kinds of puckery and ill-fittery.

Ah well. Like we said, a shame. Nora has talent and a stronger aesthetic than some of the remaining designers but it really all does come down to maturity and experience. If she'd had a little more she could have asserted herself in the design and been able to think on her feet and make quick changes without angering her client.

S1/E5: Congratulations Kara Saun!

Quickie recap: The designers need to design a wedding dress according to the specifications of their "clients." In this case, the clients are the models themselves. You can read Tim's Take on this episode here.

And it's Kara Saun for the win again! We couldn't have agreed more. This gown was GORGEOUS.

The one thing that T&L were in disagreement over was the trim around the neckline. Lorenzo loved it but Tom didn't think it was necessary.

God bless freeze-framing, because this was shot so fleetingly that you barely noticed the beautiful train.

When it comes to wedding dresses, we're both big fans of the sleek, sexy, modern look rather than the "Princess Bride" look that's all too common. Sure, not every woman can pull off a dress like this, but then again most women don't look good in a bustle and somehow the bridal industry has convinced everyone that they're still de rigeur. Go for the modern look, gals. Why would you want to wear something that has nothing to do with who you are or the time in which you live? But we digress.

There's little else we can say about the dress because it's so simple. It fits her perfectly, doesn't it?

And for once a model cries not because she's a drama queen or a bitch (we'll get to you later, Olga) but because she's in love with what she's wearing. Jenny, you are an absolute sweetheart and a designer's dream.

See how the dress looks without the neckline trim? Did it really need it?

And is Kara Saun doing the Loco-motion or something?
