Girls in the Middle

Hey, we forgot to do a Project Runway post!

We don't know, kittens.

We're just not feeling this one from Dr. Whitfield. It's all just a bit too much.

That bust is kind of weird and flappy looking.

And the rest of it's just a long bloody mess.

"Bloody" being the operative word here because that's the exact shade of red she chose for this thing.

The streaky red and the wrinkled mess on the bottom combined to make a dress that looked like a wound dressing.

Uh-oh, poodles! The editors got bored so they decided to take it out on Princess Jasmine!

A couple sound bites here...

A couple edited -in reaction shots there, and presto. You've got a storyline and a character. Shirin is loud and annoying.

Model: Ebony Jointer

Shirin's dress was a little loud and annoying too.

It's well made and it's cute. Probably a little too cute.

She seems to have decided to go over the top and costumey with the challenge and that's fine. That's one way to do it.

But the judges are usually more impressed when you can take the unconventional material and make something that looks like real clothes.

This is a fine entry, but we could have told her ahead of time that the judges were going to ignore it.
