It went on FOREVER. Although it was fun being part of a taping. There were many instructions to remember. We were told when to applaud and when to sit down. If we'd each been given a cookie and some juice, it would have been kindergarten all over again.

Lemme tell you, she is CRAZY. And fucking hysterical. She never shut up the whole time she was on stage - even during the commercial breaks.
The craziest thing for Lorenzo was just seeing all these characters from all these different shows mashed up together like his TV melted in front of his eyes.
From the Housewives of both New York and Orange County, to the cast of Flipping Out, to (of course) Project Runway and Top Design and then there were the non-Bravo celebrities sprinkled in the crowd. A scan of the room showed Margaret Cho, Simon Doonan, Rocco DiSpirito, Tila Tequila, Caroline Rhea, Lance Bass, Candace Bushnell, Rachel Dratch and even Jerry Springer. Because nothing says "A-List" like Jerry Springer.

Nikki Blonsky from Hairspray, Simon Doonan, and Jonathan Adler were a couple of rows in front of him. Jonathan was very nice and remembered us and the interview he gave us long ago. He's excited about doing Top Design again.
Simon was very nice and gave us one really funny moment. He walked out onstage to present an award and upon realizing the microphone was too high for his elf-like self, he politely asked if it could be brought down to "Edith Piaf level."
Oh honeys, and then the best - or at least the most memorable thing of the night happened.
They gave an award to Lauren Hutton.
Now, that doesn't sound like it would be too eventful, right? Well, apparently Lauren took the opportunity to take a little trip to Studio 54 along the way. They announced that she was the winner of the "John Frieda Beauty Icon Award" for her "timeless beauty."
It's really something when the entertainment industry gives out awards just for being pretty, but that's another discussion.
Lorenzo (privately) flipped out (on the inside, because he has class and sophistication) when they announced her name and was all "OH HOLY SHIT. WE WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT HER ON OUR BLOG THE OTHER DAY AND NOW I'M GOING TO SEE HER AND OHMIGOD SHE'S WALKING OUT ON STAGE AND I THINK I MIGHT CRY A LITTLE."
We could probably spend another couple of paragraphs describing what happened next, but why bother when we can show you?
BITCH WAS FUCKED UP. That was some Paula Abdul-level fucked-upedness. With a little bit of Janis Joplin thrown in. Darling, pace yourself! You're an AARP member now!
Just to bring this back a little bit to the nominal topic of this blog, they rounded up a bunch of PR designers and got them to do a challenge for old time's sake:
"Bravo has selected the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to be the beneficiary of proceeds from a charity fashion show to be held during "The A-List Awards," airing on Thursday, June 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Designers from Bravo's Peabody-award winning, Emmy-nominated series "Project Runway" will be paired with celebrities to design dresses. Pairings are as follows:
Candace Bushnell and season 2 designer Daniel Franco
Holly Kiser and season 4 finalist Chris March
Kathy Griffin and season 2 designer Nick Verreos
Katrina Smirnoff and season 3 finalist and "Fan Favorite" Michael Knight

Each designer will create a look for the celebrity fashion show and the designs will be available online after the special's taping on June 4 until June 11. Interested parties can bid on BravoTV.com with all proceeds from the auction going to support UNICEF's relief efforts in Myanmar."
We'll be talking about that later, when Bravo has released all the dresses and information and the show has aired. Guess what Chris March used for his design? The participating designers had to stay backstage so Lorenzo used The Power of Gay to slip backstage when the show was over.
