Dazed & Confused

An answer to the question "What does a stylist do, anyway?"

Kate Shillingford styled this editorial for the November issue of London-based Dazed & Confused and managed to offer a stunning riposte to the idea that stylists are somehow less important in the world of fashion than their designing betters. Anyone who can take pieces from such of-the-moment, avant garde designers as Watanabe, Galliano, McQueen, and Westwood and reimagine them as costumes for Elizabethan-style portraiture is someone who's earned every penny they're paying her. These pictures are absolutely gorgeous and somehow get you to believe that a pair of Nina Ricci heel-less silver platform boots would look right at home in the court of the Virgin Queen.

Enjoy the beauty, kittens. We did.
