TFS: The Runners Up

Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Our hearts went out to Angel when they picked this fugly thing for her.

In fact, her reaction to it mirrored our own. Of course, our sympathy only went so far because SHE WAS IN BERGDORF'S SHOE DEPARTMENT AND COULDN'T PICK OUT A SHOE.

HELLO?

Still whatever doubts we had evaporated when she turned out this fun little take on the classic white shirt dress.

Sure, it's not a dress for everyone or every occasion, but it was cute and inventive and it had a nice silhouette to it.

Not to mention some nice detailing. To be honest, she could have gone without that contrasting fabric. Should have all been crisp and white.

Our only real criticism is that she perhaps overthought it a bit much. She really didn't need to get all gimmicky and make two shirts that could be taken apart. No one cares, honey. Just make it look like it's two shirts sewn together to make a dress.

Still, a great entry. We didn't know she had it in her.

Fabulous shoes.

Okay dress.
It feels like she had a great concept and starting point and just sort of lost it in the details.

We love the bodice. She did fantastic work designing and executing it.

Ditto on the back.

And here's where it all kind of falls apart for us. We just don't love the way the black portion just sort of ends. It's like she couldn't figure out a way to marry the flimsy sheer fabric with the heavy leather-like fabric.

That neckline ain't all that great either. And we weren't fans of the washers sewn into it.

This was an entry that was definitely worthy of being singled out for praise, but we're happy that it didn't win.

Killa shoes.

Hideous dress.

We're in agreement with the judges on this one. She took a real chance and even though it didn't pay off, the fact that she took the chance at all is a factor in whether she's at the bottom or not.

Honestly, we have nothing to add to the judges' assessment of this look. It was horrible and we can't really look at it and suggest where improvements can be made. Rip it up and start over, that's our advice.

Yikes.

Even though we felt she should stay, she's seriously going to have to prove herself because any designer who didn't stop and take a good look at THAT during the process... well, there are bound to be questions, that's all.

Get your shit together, tiny dancer.
